What your appointment involves

Your visit begins with a discussion of your goals, health history and suitability. A licensed nurse performs the scheduled blood draw, and the blood is processed to separate platelet-rich plasma. The facial uses microneedling alongside the prepared PRP: fine needles create controlled punctures in the skin as part of the treatment. Before proceeding, your provider explains the equipment, how the PRP is used, comfort measures and aftercare. This service is often called a vampire facial.

For people considering an advanced treatment discussion rather than a spontaneous walk-in facial. Suitability, medical history and the proposed use of PRP require an individual assessment. Using your own blood does not make a procedure risk-free.

Before your visit

Request the appointment ahead of time and disclose medicines, bleeding or healing concerns and recent procedures to the appropriate clinical provider. Do not stop prescribed medication to prepare unless your prescribing clinician advises it.

Aftercare and expectations

Temporary redness, tenderness, dryness or pinpoint bleeding can occur after microneedling. Follow the provider’s written instructions for gentle cleansing, sun protection and when to restart makeup or active skincare. Ask about expected recovery and contact the provider promptly about worsening pain, spreading redness or other unexpected symptoms. Results and the number of sessions vary.
